Hey Guys,
Today, I want to share a bit about my writing journey—a path filled with discovery, passion, and growth.
I began writing fiction in 2004, starting with fanfiction inspired by anime. Anime and reading had always been two of my greatest loves, but writing wasn’t something I had seriously considered until then. Growing up, I mostly wrote poetry, pouring my emotions onto the page. At the same time, I was the kid who always had a paperback in hand (long before the era of eBooks and Kindles). Books were my escape, my adventure, and my joy.
Fanfiction became my gateway to storytelling. For about four years, I wrote fanfics, crafting plots and developing characters based on existing stories and movies. It was fun and felt surprisingly natural to weave new narratives from my inspirations. My writing skills weren’t great back then—grammar, especially, was a challenge—but I loved the creative process.
Eventually, I moved on to writing original stories, though I never published any. Doubts held me back. I didn’t believe anyone would want to read what I wrote, even as my skills slowly improved.
Life threw its curveballs, and my writing took a backseat. Struggles with mental health and family challenges made it hard to focus on storytelling. For years, I barely wrote at all, not even poetry.
Then, in 2017, a spark reignited my passion for writing. Inspiration came back to me, but rebuilding the habit wasn’t easy. Slowly, over the years, I found my way back to the page. Now, I mostly write fantasy romance, although I suspect a few of my stories might lean toward young adult.
I’m still learning and growing as a writer, and I embrace the fact that writing is an evolving process. Oh, and one more thing—I’m a proud pantser, letting the story unfold as I write rather than meticulously planning it all out.
This journey has been far from linear, but it’s one I’m grateful for. Writing has become a part of who I am, and I’m excited to see where the next chapter takes me.
I invite you to explore what your own writing journey might look like. Join me on my blog, where I share prompts and challenges designed to inspire and ignite your creativity. Let’s grow and discover the magic of storytelling together.
Happy Writing ^_^
