Hello, friends!
Welcome to August! I can hardly believe we’re already entering another month. July had its share of ups and downs, but I’m grateful to be moving forward one day at a time.
This month, I wanted to take a moment to check in—not only on my writing goals but also on life in general.
Writing Goals
August is all about consistency for me. Instead of focusing on writing thousands of words every day, I want to build a routine that works with my energy levels. Some days that may mean writing a new chapter, while other days it may simply be brainstorming, editing, or jotting down ideas.
My goals for this month include:
- Publishing regular blog posts.
- Making progress on my novels.
- Spending more time developing characters and world-building.
- Reading more books for inspiration.
- Continuing to grow Sara’s Writing Sanctuary.
Every small step counts, and I’m reminding myself that progress doesn’t have to be perfect.
Life Update
If you’ve noticed I’ve been a little quieter at times, it’s because I’ve been managing several chronic health challenges. Some days are better than others, and I’m learning to give myself grace instead of feeling guilty when I need to rest.
Living with chronic illness can make planning difficult because you never know what your body will allow on any given day. Even so, I’m committed to continuing to write and create because storytelling is something I truly love.

Looking Ahead
August is also a great time to reset goals. If July didn’t go the way you hoped, that’s okay. Every new month is another opportunity to begin again.
Whether you’re writing your first story, revising a novel, or simply trying to find time for creativity, remember that every page you write brings you closer to your goal.
